About Me

Welcome! I'm Chloe, a Fashion Photography graduate from LAU.

Sustainability advocate, lover of all things diverse, and a fan of anything to do with nature.

Nothing pleases me more than being able to step outside into nature and get lost in the wilderness, and for this reason I have always made a conscious decision to create as little environmental impact as possible with my work. Whilst I enjoy shooting in the studio, I tend to shoot on location more, often styling my own shoots using either second-hand garments or those from reputable fashion designers. I like to combine both masculinity and femininity in my work, and I always cast models that have a more striking appearance. I like to tell a story with my images.

INSPIRATION

My inspirations include a variety of other artists, nature, and garments themselves.

Two of my biggest inspirations are photographers Cho Gi Seok and Nima Benati - if you've never seen their work, I would urge you to check them out. Cho Gi Seok also draws a lot of his inspiration from the natural environment, and his 'Flower Study 2019' series inspired my own final project for University, titled 'Biophilia'. Nima Benati's work is very highly constructed and polished, and the strong story-telling behind each of her campaigns is what inspires me to want to tell stories within my own work.

The majority of the time, however, it's the garments themselves that inspire my next shoot idea. I volunteer as a Clothes Specialist at my local Oxfam, giving me access to a whole host of unique and interesting garments, and I often find hidden gems that become the starting points of my next ideas. It's a great place to be as you never know what you'll find!

DETAIL

Images from my final year at University

The images here are taken from a number of different projects I completed during my last year at LAU. They clearly show my personal aesthetic throughout, with every image here being captured on location and each showcasing a unique model. I worked with designers Chanel Joan Elkayam and Megan Capaldi-Tallon on two different shoots included within these images, and the rest I styled myself. These are the kinds of images I will continue to create as I go forwards with my career, with the hopes of expanding my studio portfolio too.

Everything you've ever wanted is one step outside your comfort zone.
