About Me
Hi, I'm Carolina, a recent fashion graduate and artist from Barcelona
My name is Carolina Puiggròs and I’m a fashion student from Barcelona. I’m 21 years old and since I remember I’ve always been obsessed with art and clothes. I would sketch designs, paint and even use a mini mannequin to moulage on top of them, dress dolls and liked to explore any kind of creative endeavour.
My mom was the one who introduced me to the art world as she is an art teacher and thanks to her, my artistic self woke up on an early age. I always knew that I was gonna dedicate myself to the creative world and to building my own identity while exploring the world through the lens of art. Everything I create is a piece of me as well as my thought,soul and my own experience. Right now, my focus relies on ways of exploring life and how to harmonize with Earth through creation. I'm still working on it. I believe we get further in life as fast as we change and nuture our mind, thoughts and soul.
INSPIRATION
Dizygoth, a collection born from Earth
"Dizygoth" delves into the unique connection between twins that begins in the mother's womb. During this pre-existence stage, twins are physically and sensorially hyperconnected, allowing them to fully experience their shared environment through heightened senses. After birth, their paths diverge, but they yearn to reconnect, seeking the prenatal bond with each other and their mother. In death, they become part of nature, reuniting physically, as in pre-life.
The collection's aim is to uncover what unites humanity, including pre-life, life, and death. It recognizes that despite diverse experiences, we're bound by our shared humanity and Earth's mortality. "Dizygoth" seeks unity, bridging the gap between the world and my personal existence, exploring collective coexistence and individual identity. The garments representmy own thoughts and attempt to convey a sense of connection through materials.
