About Me

BA (Hons) Fashion Design graduate from Nottingham Trent University

Throughout my journey as a fashion student, I have pushed the boundaries of what we perceive menswear fashion to be, both in the commercial and luxury fashion space. My graduate collection, ' The Endless Loop', explores life and death, and the circular journey from one to the other through a new perspective.

I have taken part in many industry briefs through the university, from high-street names like Next and AllSaints, to luxury designers like Paul Smith Japan, where I was awarded runner up for my collection. The collection, 'Time for Tea' explored the quintessential British tradition of afternoon tea throughout history for the Japanese market. I explored with unique hand-drawn repeat prints and motifs, and used a multitude of clean, crips tailored silhouettes. This, in part with a young, rich colour pallet and luxury fabric exploration helped to land me the runner up of this competition.

INSPIRATION

The inspiration behind my graduate collection 'The Endless Loop'

The main influence of my graduate collection was looking into symbols of everlasting life, as well as death. Religious imagery such as accurate depictions of angels, as well as mythology Ouroboros' heavily influenced curved silhouettes, fabric manipulation and creative pattern-making techniques to achieve 2D-3D translation. As well as this, as a designer, I have always been inspired by the 'ugly' and topics which others may overlook, this helped me throughout my project.

The Chernobyl disaster is something many people will have heard about at some point in their lives. When i first researched into Chernobyl, and the many people which died as a result, shocked me. More recent photos which emerged years later which show nature healing itself at last, shows that no matter what, life will continue in some way. I found this both incredibly sad for the now abandoned city, yet hopeful. The decay/ruin, as well as the rebirth of life is beautiful to me.

DETAIL

The Helix Biker Jacket

The Helix biker jacket was created using the finest deadstock nappa leather from London. The jacket is complete with two large zip pockets for hands and belongings, as well as a four finger chest pocket with bar-tacks, and godets on each sleeve. The measurements and relaxed fit, as well as slightly cropped hemline, make for the perfect everyday jacket. It's stylish, a wardrobe staple and is created to the highest of standards.

I love exploring shape and silhouette, but ultimately clothes that are practical and can be worn everyday.
