About Me

HELLO, I AM BOGDANA AND I DESIGN, UPCYCLE, STYLE AND I AM THRIFT GURU

As I am at the last part of my education I already have professional experience in the industry. This gave me great insight of what I want to do after my graduation. For the past couple of years I have been a freelance stylist, concept creator(some of my work is included in the portfolio section)and also a personal vintage&second hand shopper.

I am graduating as a designer but the deeper I am getting into the industry, the more I know I want to be involved and develop sustainable pracitices in my creations. I strongly believe that this is the direction fashion must be going as it is the second most polluting industry in the world. Fabrics, trends, production, distribution - there are many aspects that we can be working on. For the future, I want to take part in fabric innovation, upcycling and sustainability management. It all started with my passion for second hand clothes but now I want it to be my career path.

INSPIRATION

"Meta visions" is about being simple but visually confusing

Meta or methaphysics is a part of the philosophy that examines the fundaments of reality including the relationship between mind and matter, between substance and attribute, and between potentiality and actuality. Or, said in non-wikipedia words, it explores the world beyond what our eyes can percieve. Meta visions is about familiar objects and shapes but yet surprising results.

The idea explores first seemingly boring daily situations and objects whose juxtaposition gives them new meanings, unknown to the human’s brain. Usually, their phenomenal existence is a result of a random sequence of events. My goal is to create a collection with timeless silhouettes. However, time is a human-made concept and in a meta world it is more about timing rather than time, so each outfit is able to offer beyond one simple look. A quick blink and what you know is already past.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

I wanted to create clothes that are adjustable so they could be worn in different ways

I transferred the idea of sustainablity into my concept by making most of my clothes capable of transforming into new designs. I used buttons, clips and pins that helped executing that idea. A "leitmotif" in my collection are the colors and the textures of the fabrics that I have used. Each color can lead to a dicussion whether it is one shade or another. For example: red vs orange, green vs yellow and blue vs purple. One of the main textures that I used in the gray tones look rather plain in bad lighting but once it's illuminated, a beautiful and playful pattern comes on the surface which creates a lively illusion.

Improvise, adapt, overcome.
