About Me

Multi-disciplinary creative studying Fashion Design at Kingston Uni.

Specialist in the utilitarianism of menswear, praised for his attention to detail across multiple disciplines, intricacy of pattern design and meticulous development. BFC x Net-A-Porter Finalist / Nominated for 2 GFW awards.

My design philosophy is predicated on utility, function and transformation. It combines utilitarian workwear with the fabrication and cut of activewear. Built with sport and military inspired functions, interoperable modules allow garments to adapt to the demands dictated by the wearer’s situation. My practice is one that is driven by problem solving.

INSPIRATION

"It takes all the running you can do to keep in the same place"

My work takes influence from my own primary research while wild camping, hiking and bike touring. The Mortal Coil collection uses an experience of a 700+ mile bike tour across Greece and many weekend hikes in the peak district as reference for its design. Emulating the environments to where the collections fantasy universe is based. The project was primarily funded by a upselling marketing platform I started in February 2021 called Redistribution, currently sat at 17k followers on depop.

‘The Coil’ is a personification of the worst of my mental health, responding to the passions that have allowed me to move through the lowest points of my life. Illustrated within a sort of parallel anti-universe. The Coil could be perceived as one’s most present state within a channel of alternative possibilities, like attempting to travel towards light in a never-ending tunnel. This state also echoes the concept of ‘Tao’ in Daoism, to look optimistically through the eyes of Sisyphus despite his plight.
