I'm a graduate of Northumbria University. My interest in lingerie design grew at a year-long industrial placement in the lingerie company, where I learned the design principles and technologies of lingerie design and also improved my technical sewing skills on specialty sewing machines.
My favorite design element that can be seen in all my collections is using contrasts whether it is in colour, fabric weights, or texture. I use contrasts to communicate the story and bring viewers' attention to the details. The collections I make are feminine with lots of texture like pleats, ruchings, and gathers.
Midnight Masquerade is a luxury lingerie collection inspired by the paradox of historical masquerade balls. Hidden behind the masks people were revealing their real nature and personality. When the masquerade mask was placed on, the other one - set by society- was taken off. Masquerade balls were places where people showed their second skin, which in day-to-day lives remained hidden. The collection is a model of a collaboration project with La Perla.
The Madame Deficit collection is inspired by Marie Antoinette's lifestyle – careless, fun, and extravagant. The collection is full of lightness and softness in terms of both – colour and fabrics. The silhouettes include a variety of clean, sharp lines together with soft volumes what translates the smart and at the same time fun mood of the collection.
Midnight Masquerade is a model collaboration project with La Perla. This project shows my approach to designing a creative collection that represents me as a designer while still keeping the La Perla brand identity.
