About Me

I am always keen to explore other creative areas and to collaborate

Is through drape how I generate my initial ideas I work with organic, fluid and structural forms. I research and from this I will drape and work intuitively. I enjoy the process of my work as this at times can be more interesting than the final garment when is all finished and polished.

I take inspiration from a variety of places and art forms, but one of my biggest inspirations is abstract and sculpture. This is something I have always enjoyed and felt like it was very freeing, especially when studying Art & Design prior to my BA Fashion course. I am always keen to explore other creative areas and to work with other creative minds. Most recently I have been exploring art direction, fashion photography and video making. This interest grew from collaborations with other students overtime. *Header image photographed by Annie Walter, Model: Rosie Johnson, MUA: Lina Hallberg

INSPIRATION

'Dark Fantasy' Graduate Collection

This collection took inspiration from mythology, looking at its representation through paintings and movies as i always found mythological stories fascinating. My grandad used to be in the navy and he used to tell me old sailors sea stories about creatures and other stories and I have always found these very fascinating and interesting. I am a big fan of the mystery of where these came from.

In addition I also looked into one of Reuben Nakian's abstract sculptures ‘Satyricon I, 1980’ and my interpretation of mythological paintings, focusing on the feeling shown through these, shown through drape and fabric manipulation with wire forms. *Image photographed by Annie Walter, Model: Rosie Johnson, MUA: Lina Hallberg*
