About Me

Hi, I’m Andrea, a third-year student at Colegiatura Colombiana.

I'm a passionate creative, mainly interested in womenswear design. I focus on creating innovative pieces, with a focus on conceptual narrative design.

I have the need to explore everything that defines me as a human being. I don't run away from my own darkness, making this play between opposites and their coexistence a central theme in my creative process.

INSPIRATION

Dreams of Freedom

I recognize myself as a being of duality; I understand that there is darkness in me, but also that, as an individual, I have the ability to focus on the light that I am, and although there are things that try to oppress me, I am without a doubt FREE.

My collection speaks of that moment when I free myself from the darkness of my mind; however, it is an uncertain sensation without a clear end in sight. I tell this bittersweet story through the use of color, silhouettes, construction details, and materials. It is a game of contrasts between colors, shapes, structures, supplies, etc., resulting in a collection whose meaning becomes clearer on closer inspection.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

Handcrafted finishes that combine the rustic with the delicate within an intelligent design.

The details of my collection mix a certain rudeness with a more delicate character, creating pieces that, for the most part, can be transformed either by gathering, adjusting, or disassembling. The natural dyes are unique to each piece and give the garments an artisanal yet refined character. I used digital media at many points in the process, but in a way that is not very recognizable at the end. The result is clothing that mixes handwork and craftsmanship with digital design as a way to experiment and save time and materials.

"In the abyss of my mind, among dark thoughts and solitude, I discover an uncertain, distant, and delicate light. After reaching out to it, I finally grasp it and embrace my freedom."
