Bringing hands-on experience in production of print design, I'm driven to infuse creativity into every facet of design, eager to contribute to industry innovation and elevate craftsmanship on my creative journey.
I'm committed to injecting innovation and creativity into every print and fashion design layer. I recognize the significance of acknowledging current world issues within my work, understanding that design holds the power to provoke thought, inspire change, and address pressing societal concerns. For me, it's imperative that each aesthetic choice is underpinned by a meaningful concept, transcending mere visual appeal to convey a deeper narrative or message.
INSPIRATION
In my Final Major Project (FMP), I embarked on a journey delving into pressing global issues like the cost of living crisis and pandemics. As a designer, I felt a profound obligation to confront these challenges, prompting a critical inquiry: Is utopia and a sustainable alternative on the horizon? Through my creative lens, I sought to illuminate these questions, exploring the intersection of design, society, and sustainability.
By daring to envision a future where harmony between humanity and the planet is possible, I aimed to inspire reflection, dialogue, and action. In confronting the complexities of our time, my FMP became more than just a project; it became a call to envision and strive for a better tomorrow.
DETAIL
Throughout my FMP, sustainability was paramount. I delved into the world of bio materials, experimenting with agar and glycerine, and growing crystals using alum powder. Embracing a circular approach, I reused the crystal-growing bath multiple times, ensuring minimal waste. This sustainable ethos extended to the final creations—a coat and shawl crystallized for durability and shared among fellow students. By intertwining innovation with eco-conscious practices, my project not only showcased the beauty of sustainable design but also championed the importance of resourcefulness and stewardship in the creative process. I also emphasized sustainability by incorporating waste lamb nappa, a byproduct of the meat industry. By using end-of-line deadstock leather, I ensured that sustainability remained a key focus. This approach not only minimizes waste but also promotes the responsible use of resources in fashion design.
