Inspired by everything that moves (or doesn't)
Art and, particularly, painting has been at the core of my existence for as long as I can remember. I was always driven by an itching sensation in my hands to create, but the ultimate pleasure that I derive from that is the complete silence of the mind as an artwork completes itself. During that time the ‘I’ disappears and just colour and light are left. However, there are senses that sometimes remind me that the ‘I’ is still there, like the lesser known dangers of painting. For example, breathing in che- micals that result in nasty migraines, but somehow they make the process more exhilarating. That could be due to my Russian mentality and carved into my genetic tree Soviet slogan “Die but Do!”. I have recently begun working on possible ways to hybridize painting with other contemporary art mediums, techniques and styles.
