About Me

Hi, I'm Aaron and I'm a 3rd year fashion student at LISAA mode Paris

I'm of Chinese and Cambodian descent, born and raised in France. My double culture is an integral part of my personality, it is what defines me today.

Having several reference models, having two ways of thinking, all this has helped me to develop my creativity. It imposes upon me a duality in all themes of research. I am a great dreamer, passionate about drawing. Fashion and design in general is for me a way to express my perception of everything that surrounds us. My inspirations are drawn from my memories, my experiences, and all the social and emotional connections I have made with others. I make it a point to express my creativity in fashion without neglecting the practical and technical aspect of the garment.

INSPIRATION

The inspiration for this collection came from a sudden desire to escape from our concrete jungles.

My collection is called "VAGARY" which means an unpredictable instance, a wandering journey; a spontaneous desire or action. Overcome by a note of nostalgia, it is through my memories that I escape, reminiscing about a trip to China in my family's native village when I was only 5 years old. It is a village surrounded by mountains where nature is preserved. At that age, innocence manifests itself in the form of perpetual wonder, without any knowledge of the hierarchy and order of things around us.

I felt instinctively connected to all people, farmers, workers, vegetation and the river. This collection is a tribute to my 5 year old self and his vision. I was inspired by these encounters, by their daily lives and by their work clothes. I reinterpreted the memories I have of all this while adding an occidental and more modern touch. The collection offers functional outerwear and accessories for both urban and natural terrains, designed with a color palette inspired by natural asian landscapes.

DETAIL

I’m using a sustainable vegan leather material called Washable Paper also known as paper leather.

Unlike synthetic leather, Washable Paper is developed from natural plant fibers, it is eco-friendly and sustainable. I wanted to imitate bamboo weaving in a more modern way with the use of laser cutting and engraving for the stitching. The paper will appear more and more rustic with time.
