My name is Zhong Mingyue, 22 years old, and I am studying in the Functional and Fashion Frontier Studio of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in clothing and apparel design. June is about to usher in the graduation season, and the graduation project is currently underway.I am a person who loves life, I also love my profession, and the process of design.
My design theme is selected from my own life. At that time, I was in the stage of preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination. The need to balance the postgraduate entrance examination and undergraduate studies made me particularly anxious. I began to feel that anxiety is a very common emotion, but its diverse sources and manifestations aroused my interest. It is a relatively intense emotion, so I want to show the performance of this emotion through clothing. Finally was born my series of graduation projects —— no signal.
INSPIRATION
Anxious emotions, and some illusion images.
The original inspiration for the work came from a very common emotion-anxiety. First of all, anxiety is an emotion that more or less occurs in everyone. It mainly comes from the unpredictable and unmanageable things of the crisis situation and the worry about the unknown or the things that have not happened. When we are under stress, we feel at a loss, panic, irritable, etc. Anxiety is being tied up by emotions and bearing heavy pressure. When our emotions are released, the anxiety will disappear.
I extracted the source and performance of anxiety and other keywords such as "fetter, suffocation, break free", and transformed it into a large silhouette of clothing with a dynamic break free action. "Binding" was the form of expression of clothing, and the print of clothing illusion. It is a state of irritability and restlessness when people fall into anxiety.

Woven internal structure, exaggerated silhouette, and illusion printing.
The internal woven structure is used to support the outer silhouette of the garment. In order to reduce the weight, it is woven with imitation rattan, and it is woven purely by hand. The first step in making clothes is to weave the internal structure, and then perform three-dimensional cutting on the basket woven by rattan, so that you can make the shape you want and solve the problem of exaggerated silhouettes of clothes. The main outer fabric is made of space cotton, which is thicker and has some elasticity, which is very suitable for large-profile clothing. My design theme is anxiety. For such an abstract theme, I use trompe l'oeil prints to embody the theme. The essence of anxiety is being out of state, feeling stressed, or suffocated. I classify them as no signal, so the illusion print is born.
Anxiety is a negative emotion. It contains ingredients such as sadness, nervousness, panic, and restlessness. It is related to critical situations and events that are unpredictable to cope with.
