About Me

Junior Fashion Designer and student at Istituto Marangoni

I am soon to be a graduate from fashion design and accessories following the womenswear path at Istituto Marangoni. Before settling in Milan, I studied for 8 months in Mexico City fashion creation/apparel at IES Casa de Moda Francia. My collections are often inspired by my beautiful roots. Mexico and Spain.

I also have a particular interest for expressing political and social concerns on my designs, such as climate change, sustainability, and women’s rights amongst others. In my free time I like to keep on learning skills related to the field such as graphic design.

INSPIRATION

Fashion as a transformation tool

Addressing social issues into the current climate is vital. The new generations have lead the way to focusing on what we should really care about. Fashion has been known as a form of self expression, and it would be naive to look over the power that it has when it comes to social change. Sub-cultures have paved the way for us and fashion could be the missing piece for empowering different social movements

DETAIL

Materials and construction - What is next?

Materials are a big part of sustainability on the fashion industry, but ethical production is crucial as well. When mixing both of this together, the product becomes just as powerful as the design. Most collections try to communicate raise awareness, and working with vegan, cruelty free and recycled materials is something I can do as a designer. Desserto is a Mexican based factory that produces leather like material from cactus and recycled materials as well. Finding and supporting entrepreneurs like this can and will change the industry and the way we do fashion. As a new and younger generation, having a take with fresh eyes is what keeps it interesting
