About Me

HI,IM RANYUXIU A GRADUATE FROM SICHUAN FINE ARTS INSTITUTE

My creative inspiration comes from the ornamentation on the jade pendant with the dragon pattern in ancient China. In the long history of China for five thousand years, although each generation of jade dragons embodies the different aesthetic styles of the people at that time, they all embody a spiritual image of the Chinese people.

The dragon is a legendary creature, usually with serpentine or reptile characteristics, and it exists in many cultural myths. In the Shanghai Museum, I saw the dragon-patterned jade pendant displayed in the glass window, which is simple, naive, simple and heavy. History rolls in with them, and the wind that it brought five thousand years ago has long since ceased, and they still maintain their posture in the wind. My clothing is a tracing of their leaping spine, scouring out gold sand five thousand years ago from the settled history.

INSPIRATION

My original idea came from a visit to the Shanghai Museum

The Shanghai Museum is a large-scale ancient Chinese art museum, known as "half of the country" in the cultural relic world. There are nearly a million pieces of cultural relics in the collection, so I can see a wealth of ancient Chinese jade ornaments. The patterns include silkworms, tortoises, horses, pigs, sheep, people, as well as trees, grasses, flowers and so on. Each type of jade has various uses, such as belt buckles, jade bowls, clothing accessories, etc.

all jade wares are lonely stored in a all jade wares are lonely stored in a glass cabinet and whisper the memory of history. This resonance on the soul made me start to look up the literature to understand them, and get inspiration from it to create

DETAIL

Trilogy of Costume Making

The first is to make production samples—use anti-wrinkle suit fabrics to express smooth lines through tailoring and pleating. The most difficult part in the process is to avoid rigidity in the cutting and folds of the clothes to form a soft and natural curve. There is no straight line in each piece, and all the folds should be kept curved as much as possible. Followed by fabric experiments— first use chemical dyes to dye the bottom color, and then use an air pump to spray the paint on the clothes.finally show a softer gradation and traces of special particle shapes. The last is to make a dragon-shaped mold —First use clay to shape the shape, and then use felt powder to stick it on the surface to create a felt texture.

In a well-known western book, there is a sentence "China is a country disguised as a civilization". A virtual image on this little jade pendant carries the voices of ancient people five thousand year
