Milly's final collection is inspired by a very interesting woman 'Agent Sonya', a soviet spy that lived in her house in the 1930's. A story told through a collection, that was inspired by the spy's interesting and unique life, using print as a focus in her designs.
Milly was inspired to create pieces that people can connect too. Individual pieces with stories and meanings behind them are much more likely to hold their value and be used season after season. Slow fashion encourages more sustainable practices. By creating print stories within her work she has created pieces that have a meaning and a history behind them.
INSPIRATION
When I was growing up I learnt about a spy that lived in my house in the 1930s, and I was so interested in her double life full of secrets and dangerous missions. The most unlikely spy, she was known only for her excellent scones but In reality, she was a German Jew who had plotted to kill Hitler. Ben Macintyre's new book inspired my own research into the remarkable story of Colonel Ursula Kuczynski and how she ended up sending Britain’s Cold War secrets to the Soviet Union from her cellar.

DETAIL
By using offcuts of fabric that would of usually been thrown away, I have managed to not create excess waste within my collection. Making the process of my collection more sustainable and better for the environment. By collecting the offcuts I decided to create a patchwork dress inspired by the Korean national dress 'The Hanbok'. Using individual pieces of all sizes, shapes and sewing them together to create something new all together.
