About Me

HELLO, I'M LIDIA; A FASHION DESIGN GRADUATE FROM UCA ROCHESTER

My final collection is inspired by a fusion of my Polish heritage, and my love for the American cowboy aesthetic. The collection focuses on embellishments and trims, which are all custom designed and laser-cut, creating playful, feminine silhouettes and details, with a contemporary, technological touch.

I strive to create fun looks which make women feel powerful, confident and feminine in. Hourglass silhouettes, combined with long fringe, studs and leather provide a juxtaposition of the two worlds; the colourful, fun Polish folk clothing, and the rougher, masculine cowboy aesthetic. I want every woman who wears what I create, to feel more powerful, more beautiful, more feminine and more flirty, than she has ever felt before.

INSPIRATION

FUSION OF OPPOSING THEMES DEFINES MY DESIGN AESTHETIC

When I arrived in England, I found myself constantly balancing growing up as a child in Britain, and holding on to how childhood was back in my own country. I loved this fusion of cultures that I was experiencing and exploring my identity as someone who identifies as both Polish and British. Hence, I love to juxtapose different themes; the Polish folk clothing which I remember from childhood, juxtaposed with the American Cowboy - a total opposite to my primary theme which I was always interested in.

DETAIL

ATTENTION TO EVERY DETAIL

The combination of traditionally feminine and traditionally masculine details, creates a beautiful fusion, art on a garment. I always loved Nudie Cohn’s rhinestone suits, and combined this inspiration with folk, laser-cut flowers and studs, to create my own feminine, contemporary take on the classic. The collection features large, gathered sleeves inspired by the large silhouettes of folk clothing, whilst also adding in piping, large buckle belts and fringing, to create a perfect symphony in every look.

I use fashion to express and empower myself, I hope to share this gift with every woman I meet along my fashion journey.
