BIND is a new-age agency partnering brands with community organisations. I wanted to produce a body of work in response to 2020 and the ways in which brands responded to various social issues throughout. BIND was conceptualised as a solution for brands to collaborate with community organisations on their social impact and marketing projects.

INSPIRATION

My initial idea derived from a frustrating 2020.

I conceptualised BIND after frustratingly seeing brands partake in 2020’s ‘Black Square Summer’ and vocalise their support for other social issues, but not take any sustainable action to support Black Community organisations or grassroots projects since. I understood that community organisations deserved more recognition for the amazing work they do to support people everyday. This inspired me to develop & market an agency that would support brands in using their resources to build collaborative

partnerships with community organisations that always put the progress of people first. I was inspired by the amazing ways that people came together in 2020, and saw the potential that brands had to use their influence & resources to aid social issues. However, I wanted to create a concept that ensured brands were actioning real change through community organisation partnerships, rather than just participating in ‘woke washing’ and performative marketing that my generation was frankly sick of seeing.

Marketing Strategy

The concept of BIND was launched through marketing communications that target both of our consumers: brands and community organisations. Penetrating the market and building brand awareness within both consumer segments is a key objective for us. This will be achieved through building a strong cohort of BIND Advocates that will develop peer-peer referrals and user generated content, spreading a positive influence of BIND to their networks. Quarterly LINK UP events will enhance loyalty of BIND Community Advocates, whilst also driving increased sign ups to the BIND Hub App membership. Together with brands that will advocate for us in industry, we will also target select clients with a complimentary insights report through a Linkedin Ad Message strategy. Brand awareness and trust in BIND will be reinforced through the BIND Sounds Podcast, where we can earn credibility with listeners across bi-monthly across Gen Z, Insight and Post Partnership Chat episodes.
