For my collection I was inspired by the "Body positive". Women who feel good about their bodies! Nowadays we see many more women who try to assume their body no matter what their morphology. As a curvy woman who is very interested in Japanese culture, cartoons and the 70's (disco) I decided to mix this to create a universe that would match to women like me.
I have a concrete objective! I want to help curvy women to accept themselves and show their curves, while respecting their clothing styles. I want to show that they are normal and included in society. I use new, innovative materials and recycled or second hand materials that will make these women beautiful and sexy!
INSPIRATION
The chubby woman is always put aside, whatever her clothing style. She is not often, even never considered. A curvy woman has the right like all other women to show her body and especially these curves. In spite of the important social pressure on the overweight people, being round does not prevent for all that to succeed in life, from a point of view from a social and personal point of view.
I noticed that there were more and more brands for curvy women but not enough brands that really fit them! That's why I had the idea of REBELLIOUSLY CUTE, a brand that respects the universe of these women and that pushes them to assume their style and to dress as they wish without being afraid of being judged. So I focused on a particular style, the Gothic/Kawaii style. A very colorful universe taking back codes from the Gothic style.
DETAIL
I use artisanal and industrial techniques such as weaving, thermal printing, crochet, digital printing and macramé to create innovative and unique fabrics. Through my textiles, I retranslate the Kawai side of my collection (cute characters, mascot, teddy bear, flowers, heart...). For the Gothic side I use details/accessories (chains, spikes, eyelets...). I wanted to use technical materials and more precious materials. The openwork fabrics are very present (fishnet) to reveal the body of the curvy woman.
