INSPIRATION

ALL IN Collection

ALL IN is a Womens Designer Spring/Summer collection inspired by gambling on love. The color scheme resembles that of cards while also utilizing the mixture of pinks and reds to romanticize the looks. The intent was to create a joyful representation of love and make people who see the collection yearn for the happiness that true love can bring.

This collection is heavy on prints and embroidery, while also using upcycled denim. The Tech Style Lab at Kent was used for a digitizer to create the engineered prints and machine embroider. Print design was also a very important factor in making the theme cohesive and the upcycled denim was used thoughtfully to look polished and keep with the overall theme. McLain utilized techniques such as hand embroidering and fraying as well.

DETAIL

What Kind of Designer is Grace McLain?

Grace McLain is a womenswear designer who often works with bright colors, bold prints and has a love for denim. She explores flat patterning, embroidery, print design, and upcycling techniques within her playful collections. Since she started upcycling she has fell in love with the process and giving new life to old textiles, and she hopes to work more with that in the future. She is a well rounded designer in that she values construction, illustration, and design equally while being technically skilled in each department. Grace wants to make clothing that sparks joy in those who see it, and that is reflected in the collection "ALL IN" shown here.

If you do anything, do what makes you happy. When you wear anything, wear what makes you happy.
