About Me

HI, I’M GIORGIA A GRADUATE FROM IED-MILAN

Human.after - all is dedicated to man, as a living being made up of a body and a mind, son of nature, understood as biological and for this reason, he must be aware of his own biological "home" and preserve it. This merges with design to create an Ethical Consciousness project.

For me, having an Ethical Consciousness means focusing on the use of materials, production methods and the concept of design. This means the awareness of one's own environmental and social impact, the desire to protect biodiversity and not be the cause of its ruin. This is why today we need a fashion that is aware of what it produces. Because of this Human.after - all use, for example, Knitwear designed and manufactured with 3D technology, this innovative working method and a very limited number of collection garments reduces the waste of material in the production of the final garment.

INSPIRATION

CHECK, FRACTURE AND RECREATE THE MODULOR. ANALYSIS OF A MODULO

Human After All, collection of HUMAN ‘21 is the analysis, destruction and recreation of Le Corbusier’s “Le Modulor”. The module of Le Corbusier is based on a standard man which is the measure and canon of the relationship between human beings and living space. Becoming aware of this, the question that arises is: What happens if the unit of measure comes altered taking as a reference a body defined by imperfections such as scoliosis?

Change the modulo. Thus a split occurs; it breaks the vision of the body to create a new one, in which the “Deformation” is appreciated as a sign of uniqueness and not as a defect. It creates a new method based on irregularity, uniqueness and deformity mathematics.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

Every garment is the result of many rectangle pattern papers in many different combinations

Using this method, 14 models have been created, studied in every detail and function, following the doctrine of Dieter Rams, or "less, but better". The garments are essentially a geometric form, in which are added modeling elements, like double neckline, double armhole and sleeves but also accessories, like coulisse, elastic tape put on strategic points of the items. These added elements allow a change in the shape, creating a more articulated one, obtaining garments that are changeable in their wearability. Furthermore the collection hasn’ t size development, because the human being, to whom the entire thesis is dedicated, must be the very element of change for the clothes.

“THE MODULOR, I DON’T CARE! WHEN IT DOESN’T WORK, YOU DON’T HAVE TO APPLY IT.” Cit. Le Corbusier
