About Me

Hi, I’m Gabriela, a Portuguese graduate from Coventry University.

Gabriela is an aspiring fashion buyer with strengths in market research, consumer behaviour, trend analysis and maths who is passionate about empowering women through fashion and beauty.

I aspire to make women feel beautiful in the clothes they wear and the beauty products they apply. To achieve this, I am highly motivated about understanding consumers needs and desires to ensure the perfect product is available to them. In addition, as an eco-conscious individual I am also focused on making sure that all the products available to them were produced with materials or ingredients that do not harm the environment nor the health of workers, consumers and animals.

INSPIRATION

My continuous struggle to find the right skincare product inspired my career direction.

As an eco-conscious individual, I am always searching for sustainable skin care products and honest, transparent brands. I’ve always been frustrated with the lack of transparency on the market and unsustainable product in every aspect; ingredients, testing, packaging - the list goes on. And so, my idea launched. The Gold Formula: a skincare brand with a refillable service, 100% transparent with consumers whilst teaching them about the ingredients, custom made for each skin, vegan and cruelty free.

Our skin can hugely impact our self-esteem and so, I aim to empower people through 100% effective and personalised product to make them feel confident in their skin. In addition to that, I started seeing a huge increase of ‘skinfluencers’ and, consequently people’s interest and awareness about skincare ingredients. However, understanding an ingredients’ list can be difficult so I wanted to help people make smarter purchases by understanding what the best ingredients are for their skin type.

The Gold Formula is a skincare brand that is not just good to the skin, but good to the planet.

Based on the gaps found in the beauty industry, every detail, from the ingredients to the packaging, has a purpose. In order to formulate products that suit consumer’s skin perfectly, The Gold Formula’s Skin Scan analyses deeply the skin using Artificial Intelligence and based on the analysis, gives recommendations of the best ingredients and formulas. Moreover, as a transparent brand, on the app and website there is a ‘Goldssary’ which consists of a glossary that consumers can use to search all the ingredients and find out more about their impact on the skin. In terms of sustainability, The Gold Formula aims to reduce the environmental impact and waste produced by the beauty industry, so the products are refillable, the containers are made out of PCR glass, the packaging is made out of recycled cardboard and finally, the pumps are mono-material which makes it easier for consumers to recycle it. There is no other brand in the market that offers all of this in one.
