About Me

Hi I'm Evie, a fashion communication graduate from UWE Bristol.

I'm a film photographer and aspiring creative director, utilising my practice to spark conversation within creative industries.

With a passion for connecting to others through their stories, my work takes on a conscious approach capturing the voices and experiences of my subjects. Utilising an analogue medium to further the intimacy and vulnerability of their stories. I aspire to form connections outside and within all creative industries, creating a platform that shares the work and experiences of inspiring individuals, whilst allowing a safe space for appropriate representation.

INSPIRATION

My inspiration stems from my personal experiences and those of others.

Through self-directed projects we were given the freedom to explore our own passions and interests, leading me to explore my own personal experiences and those of people close to me. I began exploring topics such as gut health conditions and misrepresentation, which led me to centre my work around inspiring individuals. Through exploring various topics I discovered a love for womxn-focused projects and began implementing my want for honest and relatable representation of womxn into my imagery.

One of my on-going projects displays natural representations of the female body image and femininity, featuring womxn of different generations, races and body types, introducing the perspective of the female gaze. The imagery delves into my own personal experiences, as well as features some of my closest friends and family members.

DETAIL

Divine Feminine

Divine Feminine is a collaborative publication exploring the multiple perspectives of femininity. The publication was created by 7 female-identifying practitioners, delving into topics such as menstruation, pleasure, PCOS, beauty standards, ageing and dark femininity. Divine Feminine was built off a want to collaborate with like-minded practitioners, in order to spark conversation and challenge the stereotypes surrounding femininity. Image - Isobel Buxton
