About Me

Hi, I'm Cosmin, a Fashion Design graduate from Cambridge School Of Art

Throughout my three years of studying Fashion Design, I begun to discover myselef as a designer and how to use fashion as a dynamic tool; a force that can shape and change the world. Fashion has become my medium for dialogue, inspiring social change and individual expression.

I have always been passionate about the world of clothes and fabrics. I can still recall the excitement of transforming my mother's scraps of fabric into garments for the doll I had. This early exploration awakened a profound passion within me — a realisation that my ideas and concepts could materialise into wearable garments that allow people to convey their true selves, make bold statements, and embrace their identities. By adding elements of my identity, I strive to create garments that provoke thought, challenge conventions, and push the boundaries of creativity.

INSPIRATION

My creative journey begins with personal experiences and addresses social issues.

The collection explores the challenges and self-expression of a displaced young adult. The use of military uniforms reflects a sense of living under strict restrictions of Communism and the repression of artistic censorship or self-expression.

The application of Traditional Romanian motifs and laser cut creates surface decoration, referencing colours, shapes and materials of the Constructivism movement, while the use of dead stock leather and eco-fabrics highlight the importance of sustainability.

MY WORK

PORTFOLIOS

DETAIL

Laser cut deadstock bovine leather on cork leather.

To add cultural touches, I included traditional Romanian patterns in the designs which make the clothes more detailed and interesting. These patterns are carefully created using laser-cutting techniques on deadstock bovine leather. The cut outs are then hand-placed on the cork leather creating surface decoration instead of being thrown away.

"The true beauty of fashion lies in its ability to transcend boundaries, celebrate diversity, and foster unity among people."
