About Me

Hi! I am Cassandre MĂ©linand, a student at LISAA Mode in Paris.

Since little I was always attracted to fashion, so now that I am studying it, I like to push boundaries and mixing codes. It has allowed me to feel more confident in myself, to wear the clothes that I wanted without fearing the judgement of others. My goal for now is to help other to experience it too thanks to my vision of fashion.

I love art and I am very curious. I am also perfectionist which I think is a plus sometimes. I like getting inspired by everything and every forms of art such as architecture, paintings and sculptures. I also had the chance to travel a lot which helped me to discover new cultures.

INSPIRATION

He decided to escape war and dress as a woman. What if he feels more himself surrounded by girls?

A coward who wants to escape his duty decide to dress as a woman. Accentuate the waist with corsets, create shapes with strong shoulders. A mix between tailoring, pearls and ruffles. This is about blending codes and allow people to wear whatever they want. Through "Lost in the Battle" I want to portray a strong men who feels confident in his clothes.

DETAIL

I want to portray ugly as the new pretty

i wanted to show that, what people usually consider as ugly, can be totally normal and even pretty. Bruises are ok, scars are our story, and even our bigger fear are beautiful. Those littles imperfections are the reason why we are different and unique. We should not be ashamed and start consider them as completely fine. Through "Lost in the battle" I use the fear and the cowardliness of my man to show that thanks to this he can be pretty.

"Imagine how fragile is your masculinity is if a man wearing a dress feels threatening to you."
