Whilst the SmartFocus catwalk welcomes the conceptual final collections created by graduates from around the world, the guests that come to see the portfolios have an inventive style of their own. GFW18 saw some uniquely styled guests, expressing their identities through their clothing choices. Each year GFW brings some of the worlds biggest fashion fans, talented students and future industry professionals that present their relentlessness drive to make a mark on the future of fashion. We have picked a few of our favourite looks from this year’s street style, varying from monochrome outfits to bold slogans and clashing prints.

This stylish guest wore garments to represent female empowerment shown via the statement monochrome belt, using slogans to express a political opinion. The lace embellishment detail on the silk dress juxtaposes the statement platform shoes and works perfectly with the flash of mustard seen on the hat. Adopting a multifaceted approach to styling, this unique outfit is a lesson in wearing all of your favourite things at once, and killing it.

Who said gender is relative to your outfit? Not us. With stripe top socks, powerful leather boots and a short denim dress, we salute this guest who uses minimalism to draw attention to the highlights. Minor detailing in the silver chain and white stitching, heightens each element, so that the socks become a loud colourful graphic statement and the shoes a demonstration of confidence, we're loving the styling here.

Spotted.

A glamorously embellished suit jacket decorated with glistening text in alternate colours worked with a graphic print and slogan badges. The co-ordinated  jacket and trouser suit, worn casually sweeping over the shoulders, CLASHING WITH THE DIY AFFECT OF BADGES, IS THE JUXTAPOSITION OF TRADITIONAL AND CONCEPTUAL.

style and pattern clashing, this guest confidently worked a co-ordinated outfit CENTRED on the colours red, black and white. The alluring and abstract printed shirt apposes the chic check print seen on the guest’s trousers. The dazzling garments work stunningly with the sleek hand held accessory paired with bold gold jewellery.

This courageous look is an outfit we loved catching at GFW, inspiring creative students to be imaginative and daring.
