Design a childrenswear collection of twelve pieces or six outfits for babies or children up to the age of 8.
Mood board including : colour palette, graphic direction, fabric, inspiration and mood. Use trend information available including recent catwalks, aspirational brands, power of celebrity, and
A short paragraph of no more 300 words detailing the background and inspiration of your collection.
Illustrations and technical at drawings of your six outfits presented in a creative professional format
demonstrating your skills.
The Mothercare Childrenswear Award is judged in two parts. All nominated graduates will have to submit a supporting statement for a pre-event shortlisting process by industry experts
The supporting statement should explain the nominated graduate’s entry from concept to realisation including images and demonstrating that it meets all criteria as detailed above.
The supporting statement should be nomore than 10MB in size and no longer than 10 pages.
Nominations made to the University Resources Portal by 18.00 Thursday 18th May
Mothercare will shortlist the nominees and ask them to attend an interview with the Mothercare team on Wednesday 7th June
Shortlisted graduates MUST bring their FULL entry to Graduate Fashion Week for the Final Judging. The shortlisted graduates will attend the Graduate Fashion Week Gala Awards Show at 19.00 on Wednesday 7th June where the winner will be announced.
The winner will receive the cash prize as well as the opportunity to work with the Mothercare Design team to put their collection into work and develop into sampling and have at least one piece from the collection which will be manufactured and sold in stores.
