Accademia Costume & Moda, 50 years of excellency in the fields of fashion and costume design education, offering a variety of subject related courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Situated within the historical heart of Rome for a specific reason: fashion is culture. Costume and Fashion are two essential pillars of our philosophy and we combine them with history, theory and research underpinning the experimentation, craftsmanship, design and product. In the last 50 years many world-renowned creative directors and designers have graduated from the Accademia. Our courses are arduous, preparing students well for the industry with an employment rate of 89%.
Undergraduate Degree Costume & Fashion:
A unique curriculum, that combines costume, fashion, four historical and contemporary perspectives. For over 40 years, Accademia della Moda IUAD (Institute of Universal Art and Design) has been working in fashion and design academic disciplines. it is now a reference point for young people who want to have a career in design and artistic branch, and they can choose among a range of different courses. .
Teaching starts from marketing research to industrial design in fabrics, clothing, and footwear field, as well as for interior design, by using the most updated CAD systems. All courses have practical application on job market, and their contents correspond to the real market needs.
Teachers include experts on fashion and design industry. Their role is to give students the right competences and skills to properly address the world of work, and update the study plan every year. The common goal of Academia's courses is to let students acquire skills and tools necessary for placement in the fashion and design world , educating highly specialised figures in all branches , who will be able to conform to different work reality, such as industries, fashion studios, craft workshops, or on the freelance market.

Istituto Marangoni was founded in 1935 in Milano as ‘Istituto Artistico dell’Abbigliamento Marangoni’ and in 2015 it reached a special milestone, 80 years of history and success in training the top professionals of Fashion and Design. Istituto Marangoni can praise itself for the education of four generations of students from five continents and for having launched over 45,000 professionals in fashion and luxury fields, such as Domenico Dolce (Dolce & Gabbana) and Franco Moschino.
It currently educates 4,000 students per year from 106 countries at its schools, located in Milano (the School of Fashion and the School of Design), Paris, London and Shanghai, the international capitals of fashion, design and luxury.
