YKK ACCESSORIES AWARD

The YKK Accessories Award challenges applicants to bring a modern and directional approach to the accessories arena. Eligible categories include Millinery, Shoes, Bags, Belts and Jewellery.

CLARKS FOOTWEAR AWARD

You are invited to submit a design concept for a unique and innovative footwear proposition that pushes the boundaries of shoe-making to create the best possible environment for feet.

PRIZE:

  • £5000 awarded to the winning graduate and a 6 week placement at Clarks HQ

  • £1000 awarded to the University


DAVID BAND TEXTILES AWARD

The David Band Textiles Award will be presented to one student who creates a distinctive and thought-provoking exploration of the creative textile process, which aims to challenge the established boundaries of technical excellence

FASHION COMMUNICATION PORTFOLIO AWARD

The winning student will submit a well-executed, stylish, and professionally presented fashion portfolio that demonstrates individual creative identity, whilst communicating development from concepts to final ideas.

FASHION DESIGN PORTFOLIO AWARD

The winning design portfolio should display a high level of contemporary visual communication, evidence a broad research base that displays the relationship to the ideas and the understanding of future trends.

FASHION MARKETING AWARD

The winner of this award will submit a concept realised through a marketing plan that shows the value of innovation. A creative approach and development of innovative output/product is crucial.

FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD

This award seeks to support the ever increasing number of graduates communicating concepts through fashion photography and celebrate the presence of the ‘image’ in the contemporary fashion industry.

DRAPERS FASHION PUBLICATION AWARD

Project submissions are sought from students producing inspiring and innovative printed fashion publications that resonate with the Industry and intended audience.

MOTHERCARE CHILDRENSWEAR AWARD

Design a childrenswear collection of twelve pieces or six outfits for babies or children up to the age of 8.

FASHION STYLING & CREATIVE DIRECTION AWARD

Create a portfolio of at least five editorial stories, each aimed at an identified publication, addressing a wide variety of issues and narratives.

SPORTSWEAR & LEISUREWEAR AWARD

The Tessuti Sports & Leisurewear Award is open to all sportswear and leisurewear categories i.e performance and non-performance sportswear, athleisure, and leisurewear.

Fashion digital media is a dynamic and flourishing part of the fashion industry with new media constantly evolving alongside traditional formats. GFW wants to find and celebrate the voice of a new generation.

All works that celebrate sustainable, ethically aware and socially responsible products, media and marketing projects with a strong narrative that lowers environmental impact, and embodies and communicates sustainable and ethical practices.

CRISDEN INNOVATION AWARDS

The GFW 2019 jury will identify three winners each to receive awards from Crisden in the following areas of innovation: fashion product design, concept and materials & embellishment.

THE CONSCIOUS DESIGN AWARD SPONSORED BY SWAROVSKI

The Conscious Design Award sponsored by Swarovski celebrates and recognises graduates specific contribution and creation of sustainable, ethically aware and socially responsible clothing range with lower environmental impact that embodies and communicates sustainable and ethical practices.

This is awarded to an outstanding menswear, womenswear or mixed collection, which clearly demonstrates an exceptional ability in creativity, design, cut, craftsmanship, colour and fabric.

GEORGE CATWALK TO STORE AWARD

This award will be given to the graduate collection that demonstrates design excellence and strong commercial potential, constructed to a high level of finish, designed and ready to be placed on sale in a retail store.

HILARY ALEXANDER TRAILBLAZER AWARD

This award has been created in order to capture and reflect Hilary Alexander’s evident enthusiasm for new, fresh, and unpublished fashion design.

CATWALK KNITWEAR AWARD

The winner of this award will submit an innovative knitwear collection showing an appropriate use of colour, texture, yarn and silhouette for the fashion statement being made.
