A concept realised through a marketing plan that shows the value of innovation. A creative approach and development of innovative output/product and the promotion of such. Market research - to include market intelligence, analysis of lifestyle/cultural trends as well as some statistical relevance. The demonstration of the conceptual merit in relation to market conditions.

The report format should be creative and demonstrate your knowledge of the stages and promotional methods required in launching a campaign for a new product/service. Innovation and creativity are key requirements but commercial viability is also essential. The 6 P’s to be covered: People, Product, Price, Promotion, Place and Persuasion.



The Fashion Marketing Award is judged in two parts. All nominated graduates will have to submit a supporting statement for a pre-event shortlisting process by industry experts

The supporting statement should explain the nominated graduate’s entry from concept to realisation including images and demonstrating that it meets all criteria as detailed above.

The supporting statement should be no more than 10MB in size and no longer than 10 pages.

Nominations made to the University Resources Portal by 18.00 Thursday 18th May. 

Shortlisted graduates MUST bring their FULL entry to Graduate Fashion Week for the Final Judging. 

Judging will take place on the nominated graduate’s university/ college Stand from:

10.30 - 13.00

14.00 - 16.00

The judges for your award will make themselves known and this will be your opportunity to talk through your idea and possibly answer questions from the judges.

All nominated students MUST stay on their stand for the entirety of the day to ensure that they are available to meet the judges if requested.

The winners and runners up of each award will be announced at the Daily Award Ceremony in GFW Live! at 18.00 on the same day the award is judged.

In addition to the cash prize, the winner will receive a ticket to the Graduate Fashion Week Gala Awards Show at 19.00 on Wednesday 7th June.

All the Exhibition Award Winners will have their winning work clearly highlighted on Wednesday 7th June and a mention during the GFW Gala Awards Show in the evening.
